D3 had a great time at the zoo and we learnt so much about how to make a difference for animals. Fraser took us into the NZCCM to learn about the different roles people at the zoo have caring for animals. People can watch animals being looked after by vets and they can watch animals having surgery too! After, Miss Mac took us to the tiger enclosure and told us lots of information about Tigers. We learnt that there are only 400 Sumatran Tigers left in the wild. Next, Sarah took us into the classroom and told us about behaviour enrichment. Auckland Zoo puts different objects around the enclosures to encourage natural behaviour and to get the animals to interact with their food and environment. Then, we explored the zoo and looked at the different animals.
Wow what a great day. I'm sad that I wasn't able to go to the zoo with all my friends. Unfortunately it's one of the few places that I'm not allowed to visit. Thank you for taking all the great photos and telling me all about your trip D3. I loved watching it. Love Milo
